News and Announcements Saturday, February 6th - FAAST Safety Meeting Held Here at TEA - Join Us! There will be an FAA Safety Team meeting held here at TEA on Saturday, February 6th. This meeting will focus on Light Sport Aircraft, its advantages and limitations and why they may be right for you. We will cover details on the light sport training syllabus and certificates and how they differ from those of the Private Rating. There will be a Light Sport Aircraft on Display during this presentation. This Seminar is open to the public at no cost - BY RESERVATION ONLY. Quarterly Safety Meeting - October 29, 2009 - Join Us! Travel Express Aviation hosts General Aviation Safety Meetings on a quarterly basis. Club-members gather to socialize and sharpen their piloting skills all of course, while enjoying the company of other enthusiasts. There's always lots of food, lots of friends and lots of information! This month, we would like to extend an invitation to all local aviation enthusiasts to join us for the October Safety Meeting. Travel Express Aviation Moves to The Red Hangar on Powis Road TEA and TEAM (Travel Express Aviation Maintenance) have moved to a larger facility at 3N060 Powis Road, where we can now house all of the aircraft under one roof, in a heated environment. In addition, our members will now enjoy a newly remodeled pilots lounge and larger training facilities. TEA Featured in "In The Air", Dupage Airport's Monthly Newsletter We encourage you to read the latest issue of In The Air, published by the DuPage Airport. It features a story on Travel Express Aviation and Travel Express Aviation Maintenance, highlighting the growth and direction of the companies at DPA. The newsletter is attached in a .pdf format. 'The Weather Channel' Features Travel Express Aviation Interested in seeing the weather first hand and close up, reporters from The Weather Channel spent an evening with TEA's Chief Pilot flying through the clouds and feeling the effects that it has on a small private airplane! It was nice to have the opportunity to share with them, our view of the weather they report! For the convenience of all local pilots, TEA provides an authorized CATS Testing Center. Take the FAA and FCC Written Exams here at Travel Express located at the DuPage County Airport in West Chicago, Illinois. We issue all exams including the Private, Commercial, Instrument, ATP, FOI, CFI, CFII and Ground Instructor along with the Maintenance Testing A&P and I.A. To schedule a test, call us at 630.584.6462 to arrange for a date and time and then contact CATS directly at 800.947.9228 to register and pay for the tests. Remember to let them know that you are an AOPA member to receive a $10 discount. Once registered with CATS, your test will be waiting for you here in our testing center located on Powis Road at the DuPage County Airport in West Chicago, Illinois. The Pilatus PC-12 is a phenomenal pressurized business-class aircraft and many of our clubmembers enjoy flying it for business and pleasure travel.
